Town Clerk’s Hours: Monday – Thursday 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
The Town Clerk's Office is located on the 2nd floor of the Town Hall.
In special circumstances, the Town Clerk will travel to a resident’s house to provide services. We give priority to populations who are at-risk and need services.

Official Records
The Clerk is responsible for the safekeeping of the official records of the Town and for providing the records to the public in accordance with State Statute. Visit the Clerk’s office for copies of deeds, minutes of meetings, ordinances, rules and regulations, policies, birth & death certificates, etc. Land Records are also available online - click here to access the site. Scroll down to Vermont, then to Rockingham Town Clerk. There is no charge to view files, $2 per page to print.
The Clerk works with the Board of Civil Authority on elections and is responsible for the orderly operation of elections in the Town, preparing ballots, holding elections, and counting the votes. Get an absentee ballot at the Clerk’s office as well as a sample ballot. All Vermont Towns have same day registration.
Recycling Center Permits and Tickets
Tickets for bagged household garbage disposal are sold at the Clerk’s Office.

Annual permits for residents outside of Rockingham are $35/year. (Bellows Falls and Saxtons River residents are in the Town of Rockingham and do not need to pay for a permit)
Clear leaf bags sold by the roll (10 bags per roll) for $5.00.
Vehicle Registration Renewals
State of Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles registration renewals for vehicles is provided in the Town Clerk's Office. There is a $3.00 fee for this service, separate from the registration fee of your vehicle. The State requires payment by check or money-order.
Permits for Alcohol Sales and Service
Annual permits needed for restaurants, retail stores and bars.
Parking Permits
Permits needed for parking in the municipal lots.
