Welcome to the Town of Rockingham, VT
Chartered in 1753 by Governor Benning Wentworth, the Great Falls region has been home to Abenaki for 10,000 years.
The Rockingham Meeting House constructed from 1787-1801, was erected in the geographic center of the town. Until about 1825, the historic village of Rockingham was the principal village of the Town, located at Meeting House Road.
A fire in 1908 destroyed the stores and post office in Rockingham, the same year of the Village of Bellows Falls incorporation.
